Contaminants of Concern Committee

The Contaminants of Concern Committee focuses on staying ahead of emerging and regulated substances that may impact water quality, wastewater treatment, biosolids, and public health—such as PFAS and other emerging contaminants.

What we do:

  • Track and review current and emerging contaminants of concern and their regulatory developments
  • Share technical updates, research findings, and best practices with members
  • Provide input on policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks impacting utilities
  • Support education and awareness for operators, engineers, and utility leaders
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to help shape practical, science-based solutions
  • Help ensure utilities have a strong, unified voice in addressing contaminants responsibly

This committee is a place to stay informed, contribute expertise, and help guide how our industry responds to complex and evolving water quality challenges.

Join us if you’re interested in protecting public health, strengthening utility resilience, and being part of the conversation shaping the future of water quality management.
